Lochaber High School

M&E design of major phased refurbishment, demolition and new build of Secondary School. Complete renewal of services in all refurbished areas over four phases while keeping the school occupied and operational.

Within the school specialist services were required to various areas such as ASN areas, Technical classrooms, Science classrooms as well as kitchen, dining area, assembly hall, guidance and staff rooms, toilets and library areas.

The works involved the demolition of a central facility to open up the internal courtyard / quadrangle and the refurbishment of 4 wings of the existing school building, the demolition of the admin and new build of a new entrance and administration/staff/catering area.

During this project a series of services diversions had to be designed to allow the demolitions to take place. The school has remained operational throughout the works with various classes decanted to temporary accommodation with the associated services requirements undertaken by ourselves. FLN were employed to provide the mechanical and electrical services design consultancy for all phases and a fire engineering consultancy for the new build phase 3.

FLN provide the design, drawings, specification, Bills of Quantities and tender documentation for the services installation. FLN also carried out the site inspections and technical assistance for the services.
